How to Fix common issues on Printio

What you’ll fix: Printer not detected, printio.local not loading, or Printio not powering fully on. Applies whether Printio is inside your booth head unit or mounted externally.

Step-by-Step

  1. Confirm “Ethernet” appears on the iPad
    • On iPad: Settings → Wi-Fi
    • Look for Ethernet under Wi-Fi
If missing: Unplug the USB cable from the head unit and plug it back in firmly. Recheck on the iPad.
  2. If Ethernet shows but printer or printio.local won’t load

Your IP looks fine, but you can’t see the printer or open http://printio.local.

    • Check for the red LED on the Printio module.
    • If off, power-cycle Printio:
Unplug USB-C power, wait 15–20 seconds, then plug back in. Confirm the red LED turns on.
  3. Verify connectivity in a browser
    • Confirm Ethernet still shows in Wi-Fi settings.
    • Open Safari/Chrome → http://printio.local
    • If needed, refresh a couple of times after power cycle.
    • When loaded and printer appears, your booth software should also detect it.
  4. Still no luck? Full booth + iPad restart
    • Shut down iPad: Settings → General → Shut Down
    • Power off booth (unplug), wait 10s, plug back in.
    • Turn iPad back on and let it fully boot.
    • Power-cycle Printio again (USB-C unplug → wait 15–20s → plug in).
  5. Re-check “Ethernet” and cables
    • If missing: unplug/replug USB cable from head unit.
    • If still missing: unplug head unit power briefly, then reconnect.
  6. Test from photo booth software
    • Open your app, try a test print.
    • If printio.local loads and printer appears, you’re good to go.
